Violations of the functions of the visual system, as a rule, lead to several factors. For example, overstrain – long work at the computer, reading in poor light or in public transport disrupts the eyes, leads to fatigue and, as a consequence, deterioration of vision.
The next factor is age-related changes. Over the years, the retina ages, the photosensitive pigment is gradually destroyed, and visual acuity deteriorates. Drying of the mucous membranes of the eyes is another common cause of disruption of the visual system, especially for people whose work involves working at a computer. Due to the increased concentration of attention on the monitor, the person begins to blink less often, as a result, there is dryness in the eyes. In general, the frequent use of gadgets has a negative impact on vision, since the eye muscles systematically perceive information at the same level, as a result of which they lose their shape.
In addition to the above, visual impairment may be a consequence of past diseases, such as diabetes mellitus or hypertension, oncological diseases of the brain, as well as stress.
Tip 2
If a person has noticed that the quality of vision has changed dramatically, it is necessary to immediately contact an ophthalmologist, as well as a therapist. Specialists will conduct a special ophthalmologic examination and will give directions for delivery of tests – general and biochemical blood tests, brain MRI, vascular examinations and other examinations that will help determine the cause of this symptom and prescribe timely treatment.
Tip 3
If the cause of visual impairment is frequent stress or an abnormal diet, in which the body is not fully saturated with necessary vitamins and minerals, a person can restore it on their own.
It should be less nervous, and also give your eyes the opportunity to relax, reduce the time spent in front of the computer screen, TV or phone. It will not be superfluous to devote a few minutes to special eye gymnastics every day. Spend more time outdoors. Include foods rich in vitamins A, E, and C, lutein, and omega-3 in your diet. Carrots, blueberries, spinach and seafood are especially useful for disorders of the visual function. If it is not possible to obtain a sufficient amount of useful macro- and microelements from food products, it is advisable to use vitamin complexes.
Tip 4
Performing special exercises can help partially restore vision. Close and open your eyes tightly several times, look in different directions without turning your head, close your eyes and repeat all the same exercises. Consider the room in which you are located, or several objects that are near and far from you, look out the window.
Systematically perform these exercises several times a day, then you will notice an improvement in the quality of vision and unpleasant symptoms will disappear.
